Philadelphia’s Yearly Memorial Day Music Festival

Jam on the River is the yearly Memorial Day Festival at Penns Landing featuring a big crowd and some big bands. This year’s entertainment includes the headling Lotus which is described as Tribe meets Digable Planets with a tight facelift, however, this band’s brand of Botox is for the soul. Also performing is guitar wielding, saxophone blowing, computer controlled GRIZ. They’ll bring out a funky fresh flavor that will have shakedowns breaking out all over the place. Other performances by Zoogma, Papadosio, Conspirator & Grimace Federation.

This event is NOT at the terribly flat and uncomfortable Festival Pier by Spring Garden street, its at the colosseumesque Penns Landing River Stage. It’s one of my favorite places in the city to watch a show in the summer.
